Sourcing Information and Product Transparency
My goal is to source quality ingredients from ethical and sustainable sources. Below you will find information on my suppliers and the origins of my ingredients.
My Suppliers:
SerendipiTea: SerendipiTea is an artisanal Specialty tea company based out of Manahasset, New York. They import premium tea and botanicals directly from the growers.
Monterey Bay Herb Company:
Monterey Bay Herb Co is a herb, spice, and tea seller in Watsonville, CA. Their rigorous production standards and operations are independently reviewed and certified.
Frontier Co-op:
Frontier Co-op is a well-established co-op with over 40,000 owner members. They specialize in sourcing high-quality herbs, spices, and botanicals directly from the growers. Frontier Co-op supports suppliers who are committed to sustainable, ethical, and socially responsible business practices.
Banaspaty Estate: Assam, India
Located in the Assam state of India, the Banaspaty Estate is known for producing high-quality, orthodox teas. The hot, humid climate and heavy rainfall of this region create the perfect environment for tea growth, and contribute to the tea's unique flavor. The Banapaty Estate is Certified USDA Organic, Certified Kosher, Certified Fair-trade, and Certified Elephant-Friendly. This estate is also a member of the Ethical Tea Partnership.
I use Assam black tea from this estate in my Amber Breakfast, Irish Breakfast, and Black Cannella tea blends.
Lumbini Estate: Ruhuna District, Sri Lanka
The Lumbini Estate is a family-owned tea estate in the highlands of Sri Lanka. It is located on the edge of the Sinharaja Rainforest. The soil there is very rich. This results in the teas grown there being very rich and full-bodied. This estate is certified Kosher. The Lumbini Estate is also a member of the Ethical Tea Partnership.
The Ceylon black tea that I use is from this estate. I use this tea in my Irish Breakfast, Amber Breakfast, Black Cannella, and Spiced Sage teas.
